The seminarians in formation for the priesthood in the Diocese of Trenton gathered for an annual retreat, held the week of July 22 in Loyola Retreat House, Morristown. On the agenda were Morning, Evening and Night Prayer; Liturgy of the Hours; Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament; communal meals and periods of reflection.
Father David Swantek, pastor of St. Martha Parish, Point Pleasant, led the retreat’s conference sessions and served as the principal celebrant of daily Mass. Seminarian Bill Clingerman provided music at each liturgy. Father Swantek was assisted by Deacon Stephen A. Sansevere of St. Theresa Parish, Little Egg Harbor, who is expected to be ordained to the priesthood in June 2020. Msgr. Thomas Mullelly, diocesan episcopal vicar for clergy and consecrated life and director of seminarians, was also in attendance.
